Everything about the new Camaro ZL1 was created for two things: speed and power. The goal of the Camaro ZL1, like its original 1969 model, is to be legendary.  The engine is a supercharged 6.2-liter LSA V-8 that produces an impressive 550-horsepower and 550 pounds-feet of torque. Drive mode allows second-gear starts and quick upshifts to conserve fuel economy. The Sport mode has first-gear starts, aggressive gear changes, and shifts delayed to higher rpm. Finally Manual mode does not shift unless the driver commands it to and gear changes are altered to go as fast as possible for maximum acceleration.
